Jose Mourinho believes schedule favours Manchester City

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes Premier League scheduling has given Manchester City the upper hand in the race for top flight supremacy.

City already have one game in hand on their title rivals, having seen a midweek clash with Sunderland hit by the stormy weather which has been sweeping across the country.
With just three points separating them from leaders Chelsea, and with a far superior goal difference, Manuel Pellegrini's side know their fate is in their own hands.

They have also seen a derby date with Manchester United in March pushed back due to their involvement in the Capital One Cup final, meaning that once again they will watch on as their closest challengers for league glory go in pursuit of precious points.
Mourinho believes that playing catch-up will work in City's favour, as they will know exactly what is required of them before taking to the field.Continue..

He said in the Daily Mirror: "What affects the Premier League is the change of the fixtures.
"City play later after the other teams fighting for the title, so it is easier.
"They know somebody lost, somebody won, they lost two points, one point is enough for us. That is obviously an advantage.

"But it's not their fault. It's the weather, the fixtures, the FA, the Premier League, so it's not their fault."
Chelsea lead the way at present, one point ahead of the chasing pack, but were held to a 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion in their last Premier League outing and saw squad morale take a hit on Saturday as they were dumped out of the FA Cup by City.

John Terry was again absent at the Etihad Stadium, and Mourinho has aired his frustration at being unable to call upon the services of his talismanic skipper - as he nurses a muscular complaint.
The Portuguese tactician added: "The medical department always tell me he looks like he is ready.
"I was told he would probably play this game (against City). He didn't, so now do they say for sure he plays the next game? I don't know."
