Ibitayo
Samson, 13, was clubbed to death with a pestle in the morning hours of
the new year 2014 in Aje Quartres, Okeagbe Akoko area of Ondo State.
According to the victim's mother, Ibitayo Oluwatoyin of Cherubim and Seraphim movement church, her son was murdered by one Oladejo Iskilu, 24, after an argument ensued between them. The argument reportedy started over a tyre for roasting a goat for the New Year celebration.
The two young men exchanged abusive words, and then the murder suspect attacked the younger boy and inflicted serious injuries on his head. After that, the boy was rushed to a private hospital.
The matter was reported to the community leader who directed the family of the suspect to pay for the injured boy's medical bills. However, Ibitayo Samson died in the hospital the following morning.
The local police have confirmed the death of a 13-year-old boy, and arrested the suspect who is currently being interrogated.
