Crystal Palace full-back Jonathan Parr relieved to escape serious injury

Crystal Palace defender Jonathan Parr has spoken of his relief at escaping serious injury after being stretchered off in the FA Cup defeat to Wigan.

A collision with Latics winger Callum McManaman left Parr needing oxygen on the pitch before being taken to hospital during his side's 2-1 loss at the DW Stadium on Saturday.
The mid-air challenge meant that there would be an additional eight minutes of first-half stoppage time as the 25-year-old received treatment.
The clash happened just after Ben Watson had given the hosts the lead and it was the Sky Bet Championship side who progressed thanks to a James McClean strike despite Aaron Wilbraham's leveller.
It was initially feared that Parr would face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but the full-back says he has come off better than expected.

"I am extremely happy that I am 100% well," he told Sky Sports.
"It was a hard knock, but I am happy I have not suffered a serious injury.
"I hope to be back playing soon."
However, Parr admits that Palace's next game against Hull City could prove to be too soon for an immediate return to action.
"I might not be able to play this Tuesday, but I am sure I will be ready next weekend," he said.
